Search for help creating an IEP, browse help topics, or use a tool to help write standards-referenced goals. Users will also be linked directly to help through contextual links from the State's iePoint IEP management software.
Help Topics
An organized series of help topics collect best-practice recommendations, FAQs, examples and relevant tools for each section of the IEP. A flexible data structure enables linking to all relevant resources from a single page.
Directors Conference Poster
The team was invited to present a poster at the 2008 IES Directors Conference, illustrating the development of the tutorial and our initial findings.A web site is an increasingly important part of most research projects. In the case of the IEP-Q project, the web site was the subject of the research: a web-based decision making support system designed to help teachers create quality, standards-referenced Individualized Education Programs. The site contains help topics related to each area of the IEP form, interactive tools and expertise from a panel of nationally-recognized IEP experts.
Study participants using the site report that it is well-organized and easy to use. This success can be contributed to extensive strategic planning and prototype testing in the initial phase of the project. Preliminary data has shown that the tutorial has a positive impact on the quality of IEPs. The tutorial was also built with scalability in mind, so this success may be tested with a wider group of subjects.
The IEP Quality Project web site was awarded a Cool Web Site Award from the University of Illinois Campus Webmasters. Judges described the development process for the IEP-Q site as "confident, steady, and well thought out" and commented that it "included extensive usability testing, thorough documentation, and user training." The site demonstrates an exemplary level of accessibility: 100% according to the University's Functional Accessibility Evaluator.
