As an avid knitter and aspiring knitwear designer, I was delighted when the owner of a local yarn store entrusted me to assist with her Web site and launch a new online store.

Leaving her original Web site in place, I selected the Yahoo! Stores system for its ease of setup, simple operation, and integrated payment gateway. The store also integrates with the store's existing Quick Books point of sale system.

Yahoo! Stores provides a limited selection of themes, so heavy customization of the underlying templates was required to create a look that is consistent with the existing store site. Text, headlines, and navigation options were written with search engine optimization in mind, producing steady traffic and sales.
